Azeemah Mayet-Moola
Azeemah Mayet-Moola is a paediatric speech-language therapist and audiologist who completed her undergraduate degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, followed by a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Intervention through the University of Pretoria. Her early career included work at 1 Military Hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, and Park Lane Clinic, where she gained extensive experience supporting children with developmental, communication, and feeding challenges. She entered private practice in 2012 and has continued to expand her expertise through advanced training and published academic work in the field of early intervention.
Her commitment to early childhood development has led her to complete several internationally recognised programmes that strengthen her ability to support young children and their families. These include advanced Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) training, parent-coaching approaches through the Hanen Centre, specialised speech motor planning techniques through the PROMPT Institute, and the SOS Feeding Approach for children with feeding difficulties and picky eating. This combination of experience and specialised training allows her to offer a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to early intervention.
Azeemah believes deeply in the importance of connection, communication, and collaboration. She values the opportunity to work closely with parents, guiding them through their child’s developmental journey with empathy, partnership, and practical support.
Outside of her professional life, she is a mum to four boys and enjoys spending time with family and friends, discovering new restaurants, and getting lost in a good book.
